FAQs about Kitchen Plumbing

NO! Please never pour grease down your drain!

Grease when solidified causes major buildup and severely damages your pipes and lines. Also never flush grease down the toilet. Allow your grease to cool down, and place in a paper towel in your garbage can.

Yes We Can

Newer sinks are equipped for easy install of a garbage disposal system, but some older sinks and fixtures may require upgrades to allow for a Garbage Disposal installation. Give Gallucci's a call or text today for an estimate on garbage disposal installation for your kitchen sink!

Absolutely!

We provide all of our plumbing services for commercial kitchens and restaurants! We also provide scheduled inspection services for your commercial kitchens to ensure they are kept up to date and properly serviced.

1) Never pour grease down any drains.

2) Have consistent drain cleaning service yearly.

3) Clean your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.

4) Frequently tighten your sink and fixtures to reduce leaks.

5) Clean out your dishwasher filters and make sure to use the proper dish cleaning materials recommended with your type of dishwasher.

6) If you have a garbage disposal, make sure to check and clean frequently, and never pour hard-solids down your disposal.

You can use a plunger on a sink if you're having clogs or drainage issues.

Make sure not to over plunge and cause any damages, AND be sure to use a fresh plunger!

Here is a list of what you SHOULDN'T put down your garbage disposal:

  • Grease or Oil.
  • Chemicals, including Cleaners.
  • Solid/Hard objects like Bones.
  • Starchy food like bread, rice or pasta.
  • Eggshells, a common misconception.
  • Boiling Water, you don't want to fluctuate the temperature in your pipes or drains, let it cool down first before pouring it down the drain.

On average a Garbage Disposal only costs a few hundred bucks depending on what model you'd like and the varying sizes.

Then a small installation fee for professionals to properly install your disposal guaranteeing you no future problems!

Chances are, your kitchen sink has either a hard-object OR too much gunk that is building up inside your pipes that is slowing the water drainage.

A quick drain inspection will determine if you have a kitchen sink clog, or if any repairs are needed for your drains or pipes. Please DO NOT stuff a coat hanger down the drain as you can easily damage the inside of your pipes with this "method".
